It is owned and operated by a longstanding wagyu meat shop of the same name, which specializes in A5 rank wagyu (the highest rank) including their own private brand “Hirai beef” from Kyoto and “Murasawa beef” from Nagano prefecture. From their accumulated knowledge and experience in the wagyu market, they became well-known restaurant offering high-quality wagyu dishes. They recommend you try the Miyabi course (¥12,000 / limited to 6 people per day / reservation must be made two days in advance) having dishes using specially selected wagyu including Hirai beef and other Japanese seasonal fine foods. In this course, you will have the chance to try seasonal appetizers, wagyu sushi, thick cut and thinly sliced wagyu tongue, wagyu striploin yaki-shabu,

Try KUROGE WAGYU BEEF at a beef specialty shop founded 150 years ago
MORITAYA was the first beef specialty shop founded in Kyoto. Their specially-selected Kyoto Beef and Kuroge Wagyu Beef comes directly from farms in Tamba, Kyoto. You can try their beef in courses where sukiyaki, shabu shabu (thinly sliced beef that is quickly boiled) or beef grilled in oil is the main dish. From May to September, it is possible to eat on the kawayuka patio. Gaze upon the Kamo River while dining on masterfully made beef dishes in this high- class location. Within the same complex, this store also features the restaurant TEPPANYAKI HANARE, where grilled steak is served by a chef at a counter. The flavors of the beef are brought out using simple cooking techniques on the teppanyaki grill.
